The Firearms Biometric Safety invention is a unique product that revolutionizes safety features of firearm pistols. The invention is patented and adds safety features to pistols that include key code, light sensing, retina scanning, and voice recognition. The minimum viable product was designed and built to demonstrate the key safety features and includes a key code and light detection for the safety locking mechanism.
Main challenge or problem
The product has been designed to enhance the safety functions of firearms. Where traditional firearms can be used by anyone who can handle it, the Firearms Biometric Safety invention locks the pistol so it can only be used by the owner. This alleviates many unfortunate accidents by pistol.
What solution/design work was provided
The minimum viable product was designed and fabricated to demonstrate the enhanced locking features of the pistol. There is a keypad and light sensor that need to be activated in order for the pistol to be unlocked. A laser pointer and LEDs indicated whether the pistol is locked or unlocked.
Final outcome/result
Along with the pistol prototype a marketing video was also created to demonstrate the invention at conferences and for instructional purposes. The invention is aligned for application in law enforcement agencies, military departments, and personal use as well. The completed prototype is battery powered and sustains battery life throughout any conference attendance.
