Short overview of the project
The Medical Vitals Bluetooth Transducer is a patented non-invasive medical device that replaces the traditional wiring system in a standard hospital. The wires are removed and replaced with a central chest unit that measures six major vital signs. The vital signs are blood pressure, blood oxygen, blood glucose, body temperature, respiratory rate, and heart rate. The product was developed as a minimum viable product and aligns with various markets including: medical, athletic, health, and military.
Main challenge or problem
The biggest challenge achieved was producing a product that is wireless and non-invasive. This accomplishment sets the product apart from existing products and provides a basis for leveraging the product in various applications.
What solution/design work was provided
The final product is in the form of a compact 2”x2”x1” unit that is easy to handle and easy to apply to the chest. The vitals are shown in real time on the complimentary phone application.
Final outcome/result
The final minimum viable product prototype was completed and is now available for presentation and demonstration. The product has been submitted for use in military applications under Defense Health Agency (DHA) contract, and is being socialized for seed funding to accommodate commercialization.
